 Cloaked stranger ::open::

Morgan sat in one corner, leaning his heavy wooden chair back so that is rested on one leg, his heavy black boots up against the table. In theory he was fairly in conspicuous - the mysterious cloaked figure dressed all in black sitting in the corner of the restaurant - but in actual practise he stuck out like a sore thumb. Everyone else in sight was dressed appropriately for eating out, and there were certainly none crouched so moodily over their meals.

Picking up his fork, he stared at the metallic grey for a moment before plunging it into his steak. He continued to stare at the metal, and then slowly cracks in the meat began to appear, spider-webbing out across the food until the meat was in handy bite-sized pieces. Good. He thought. I'm getting stronger.

Carefully placing the food in his mouth, he chewed it slowly as he contemplated exactly what he was doing here. He had been told that it was here he should come to find greater things... but what were they exactly? So far he had found nothing of interest; just a castle and countless numbers of happy, cheery people. What he wouldn't give to see someone crying, someone fighting. Even if it was him...

He cast a glance about the bar. No, there was no one here interesting enough. He sighed heavily, about to give up and look elsewhere... and then the door to the restaurant creaked slowly open...

Aylanna slowly pushed the restaurant door open. From the look on her face, one would guess she wasn't in a great mood, and they'd be right, but if they were to hazard a guess as to why, chances were, they'd be wrong. Aylanna was in the city because her mother had dragged her along when she'd come to see an old friend whom Aylanna had met briefly 13 years earlier, and whom she didn't remember, nor care to. The only reason she was here was because her mother wouldn't travel alone, and she was hardly ever able to say no to her mother without regretting it later.

As she stepped fully into the restaurant and let the door close behind her, she pulled the hood of her cloak off, allowing her long dark hair to tumble out. She glanced around the room quickly before taking a seat at an empty table and ordering some food. Once that was done, and as she waited for her food to arrive, she took a better look around the room, carefully studying each group of people before moving on to the next. None of them were very interesting, until she saw the man in the corner. She stared at him for a while, (much longer than she had spent looking at the other patrons) though she knew it was rude. Well... she thought, he certainly doesn't look like he belongs here...

Morgan stared at the lady who entered the restaurant; finally, someone who didn't reek of forced joy. He watched her enter the room, take a seat, and order a meal, and then allowed his chair to fall back down onto all four legs with a clatter. Ignoring the perturbed looks of the other diners, he sat, fascinated by the creature. She was dressed all in blue and had long dark hair, and from the way she held herself he guessed she must be of some rank. Interesting.

He briefly mused over why she did not share in the rest of the peoples' happiness, not taking his piercing eyes from her for even a second. He cared not what she would think of this, but he was intrigued. The elf sensed that she perhaps held some magic, for his own had begun to tingle when she had entered the room, and he wondered how powerful she would be, in comparison to his own skills.

As if to demonstrate his powers to her, he ran one white forefinger down his fork and smiled as the metal rippled beneath his touch. He would work on his skill until he was a master of his craft.

Quickly returning his gaze to the girl, he wondered if she had noticed his peculiar interest in her. She herself seemed to rest her gaze on him for slightly longer than he'd have expected a human to.

Aylanna shifted uneasily in her chair. She knew the man in the corner had been watching almost since she entered the restaurant. It made her nervous, people didn't usually pay much attnetion to her, and that was the way she prefered it. She suspected he had magic when she first looked at him, her suspisions were confirmed when he did his little...trick...with his fork. She wasn't going to show off her magical abilities in return though, she prefered to keep the fact that she was a sorceress to herself whenever possible.

His unusual interest in her was un-nerving.But then she supposed he might find her interest in him un-nerving as well. She looked away and down at her newly arrived meal for a few moments, but soon found her gaze returning to the stranger. She didn't know why she was so interested in the man, but she was, and she couldn't help it.

Morgan smirked as he realised this girl was just as interested in him as he was in her. He was almost certain that she coudl use magic, but if she did possess an aptitude for such a skill, she was being careful not to let him see that it was so. Tilting his head too ne side, he stared at her for a moment longer, and then finally dropped his gaze. Curious... how could be make her use her magic?

"Excuse me!" He announced, clicking his fingers for a waiter. Lowering his voice,he said smoothly, "Please send that girl a drink... No compliments from anybody. Just an anonymous gift." If the waiter had thought this was at all suspicious, the gold pieces Morgan slipped him soon removed any fears.

The elf kept his hood up... for all anyone knew, he could just be a human having a bad day.

((OOC: I'm going to assume that it's an alcoholic drink..))

Aylanna raised an eyebrow, as if questionig the waiter who delivered her the drink. The waiter only replied that it was from someone who wished to remain anonymous. She suspected it was from the man in the corner, as he'd called a waiter over, and didn't seem to have ordered anything for himself. She assumed he was trying to get her to use her magic, but if he thought a drink was going to do it, he was sorely mistaken.

She sipped the drink cautiously as she ate her meal. She would play along, for now. She continued to watch the man as she ate, wondering why he was so interested in her, and why he seemed to want her to use her magic. She guessed that he wanted to know how powerful she was, but she wasn't going to give in so easily. He'd have to try a more...direct...approach if he wanted to learn anything.

Elizabeth walked into the resturant feeling rather grim. Her green eyes weren't sparkling like usually. I need to get out of this city, as quick as possible, She thought to herself. She sat down at a two person table and called thewaiter over. "Can I have any alcoholic drink you have?" And the waiter brought back a small beer. Elizabeth began drinking it, figuring out where she was going next. She didn't even notice the other two peple in the resturant.

Morgan frowned at the girl. Why had she not reacted? Still... At least she was proving to be something more of a challenge. Something to keep him interested. He silently cursed himself. Beautiful women had always been his greatest weakness, his flaw... He had been sent away from his home country to try and cure himself of it, and yet here he was, encouraing this flaw as if it were a competitive sport.

He looked up as a second woman entered the tavern. She was beautiful indeed, but he fully intended to finish his business with the other woman first... If she was a sorceress, her skills would far surpass his own in terms of magical ability. And that intrigued him.

He took a sip of his water, mentally considering all of the things he could do. Perhaps a direct attack... No, she would guess it was him, and then any chance of him talking to her would be ruined. He reached into his bag and retrieved a snake. He had long ago removed its poison sacks to use in a magical spell of his own, and he hadn't been able to rid himself of the creature since. Still, no one else would know it was harmless..

He sent it slithering off in the direction of the girl. If she was any kind of magical warrior, she would instantly resognise its presence and be forced to defend herself and the others in the tavern. So what if the snake got killed? He'd been trying to rid himself of it for far too long already.

Aylanna couldn't help but laugh silently to herself. This was proving to be quite an interesting night. She had expected the man to give up by now, but it did not appear so. She glanced briefly at the new person who had entered the tavern, but she didn't appear to be of much interest to her and she soon returned to watching the man in the corner.

She saw the man release the snake, but decided she would pretend that she hadn't until it was closer to her. It would be easier then to kill it without so many people seeing her use her magic. There was no way she was going to touch the snake with her hands, she was secretly scared of snakes, but nobody needed to know that. The man had finally achieved his goal, as far as she could tell.

Once the snake was a couple feet from her table, she pointed her finger at her glass of water, and moved it ever so slightly upwards. A rope of water emerged from the top of her glass, tightening itself to the point where it didn't drip. She shooed the water towards the snake. The water rope wrapped around the snake's body right behind it's head. It tightened slowly, causing the snake to thrash about as it tried to free itself. After a couple minutes the snake lay limply on the ground. Aylanna let her control of the water vanish, letting the rope turn into a puddle around the snake.

She looked towards the man and raised an eyebrow, as if asking him if he was happy now that he'd gotten her to show that she had magic.

Elizabeth stared as the snake was let ot, she hated snakes. Then when the women killed it she was still amazed. I knew there was something about these people that was different. She wasn'tsure what to do, but she stayed with her back to them, so they would not thin she knew. She continued to drink her ale and silently contiued to watch the other people.
